Uche Orji | Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA)

Uche Orji is the current Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), which handles the three SWFs: the Future Generations Fund, the Nigerian Infrastructure Fund and the Stabilization Fund.
Orji was tasked to direct the NSIA in order to augment investment in Nigeria and to diversify the country’s petrol earnings for prospect generations.

Young, Ambitious, and Disciplined

Having graduated from the University of Port Harcourt with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mr. Orji also proceeded to obtain an MBA degree from an ivy league school, Harvard University.

At quite a very young age, with the outstanding professional knowledge in multi-disciplinary education of business and administrative abilities; he has been risen to the occasion with taking several challenging tasks both in the present day and in the past.

He worked in various renowned establishments such as J. P. Morgan Securities, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management (both based in London, United Kingdom).

He was an outstanding semiconductor analyst and Managing Director with UBS in New York City, making available highly quoted professional guidance to investors and multi-billion dollar companies between fr 2004 to 2010.

Making a Difference Worldwide

With this capability, he has led a research team from eleven countries, including affiliates in Korea, Taiwan, London and the US.

Along with this very important task, he as well handles the US branch of the UBS technology research team supervising the work of associates but also the work of management colleagues.

Orji’s international investment knowledge is a great advantage to the Fund’s management team which he presently oversees.

Bringing NSIA to New Heights

In 2012, he was named CEO, Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).

He started his responsibilities in September, working from the NSIA’s temporary offices in the Country Capital City, Abuja.

It was another privilege for Mr Orji to advance back to his home country after several years abroad.

His experience will undoubtedly enable him to prepare for and eliminate several of the challenges to be confronted in the Fund’s initial, on-going work and other responsibilities.
