Career Spotlight: Adeola Fayehun Producer of Keeping It Real  | Making African News Interesting Again

“You can never be perfect as a journalist, I think it’s a matter of giving it your all, when you give it your all, people see it and appreciate it.”

Adeola Fayehun is a Nigerian-born journalist, who hosts and produces the renowned show Keeping It Real With Adeola that airs weekly on SaharaTV. For almost four years now, Ms. Fayehun has captured news and shared with viewers stories about Africa and Africans. As a young girl, she recalls being inspired by watching Femi Oke, a journalist on Inside Africa CNN. Despite originally wanting to be a lawyer, she followed her passion for journalism and became a member of the Press Club in secondary school (high school) and later on traveled to the United States where she acquired her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in journalism.

Ms. Fayehun loves journalism because it is never boring: “You work with the news, and the news changes everyday”. Ms. Fayehun believes she has been given a platform to make a difference, which she is not only grateful for but also regards as a privilege. Although journalism is a lot of work and can become overwhelming at times, she remains focused and accountable to her viewers providing them with the best content every week.
